TRAFFIC POLICE

                                           

 In Kollam District the traffic arrangements are manned by the concerned Police Stations, but in Kollam town a separate Traffic Police Station exists which is responsible for traffic management inside the town. Various innovative traffic control measures have been adopted by the Traffic Police for ensuring safe ride to the citizens on the road and the pedestrians.

What you should do in case of accident

  • On seeing any accident, please contact 1033 or 100 or 1090

  • It is not necessary to reveal your identity.

  • Note down the registration number of vehicles involved.

  • Give assistance to the injured persons.

  • Take him to the hospital if necessary.

  • Inform the relatives of the injured if details are available.

  • Furnish more details to the Police.

  • On seeing any traffic violation note down the Registration number of vehicle/vehicles and report to Police with time place etc.

Your vehicle will be seized by Police

  • If you do not posses valid Driving License

  • If your vehicle is on the road without registration.

  • If you violate the condition in the permit.

You will be arrested while driving

  • If you are found drunk and driving.

  • If you are driving recklessly and dangerously.

  • If you have taken somebody's vehicle without his/her permission.
